About me

I specialize in foreign language education with a research focus on cognitive and corpus linguistics. My work explores the impact of experience and instruction on language learning, with the aim of connecting linguistics and language education. I disseminate my research through scholarly publications and presentations at the university level. As an educator, my teaching philosophy is rooted in action-oriented and inductive communicative approaches that emphasize situated, experiential learning and learner agency. I am involved in a variety of educational activities beyond academia, focusing on vocational training, language and employability, and international exchange.

I am currently a lecturer at the School of Foreign Languages of Southwest Jiaotong University in Chengdu, China, and a DAAD teaching fellow.

I live and work in the Chinese megacity of Chengdu. Chengdu is the capital of the southwestern province of Sichuan and surrounded by the Chengdu Plain known as the “Land of Heaven”.

To the west of Chengdu, tall mountains rise towards the Tibetan Plateau. Explore my collection of personal photos capturing my adventures in this stunning scenery by visiting here.
